Position Description

With close direction, the PSS I performs standard clerical responsibilities that impact clinic patient flow, in accordance with established procedures. Responsibilities may include registration, scheduling, collections, and/or insurance authorizations.

With close direction, the PSS I performs standard clerical responsibilities that impact clinic patient flow, in accordance with established procedures. Responsibilities may include registration, scheduling, collections, and/or insurance authorizations.

• Greets patients professionally and courteously at the beginning and end of the visit.
• Requests insurance information and updates as necessary.
• Scans insurance and patient picture identification into the EMR.
• Correct patient's demographic information as necessary.
• Call patient to verify rescheduled appointments.
• Request any additional payments and schedule the next follow-up appointment and or testing.

High School diploma or equivalent.

• 2-3 years in working in a clinical setting.
• Experience using and knowledge of medical terms.
