Job Summary:

Our Houseperson communicates with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner with a smile. Supports and services the room attendants. Responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: delivering, carrying down and sorting linen; special cleaning projects; stripping rooms; vacuuming guest corridors; delivering guest laundry; shampooing/extracting carpets; discarding trash from guest rooms/corridors/service landings; room readiness, moving furniture; delivering glassware; and other requests that may be asked by the housekeeping supervisors and management.

Ensuring guest requests are delivered in a timely manner and in pristine condition. Valencia Hotel Group is a growing hotel company and currently has 7 hotels across Texas and California.

Shift Requirements

Currently searching for day and evening shifts ranging from 7am – 3pm, 3pm – 11pm, and mid-shifts starting at as needed times. Employees will work holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute positively to the team within the department
  • Participate in ongoing training
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Provide friendly assistance in answering questions and offering information to guests
  • Maintain good customer relations by keeping aware of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses, in person and on telephone
  • Follow checklist for required duties and timeliness. Complete all opening and closing duties
  • Communicate with all other departments to fulfill guests’ needs
  • Sweep and mop floors in service landings on assigned floors as needed or directed by a supervisor/manager
  • Vacuum carpet throughout the assigned guest corridors on a daily basis
  • Keep detailed notes of assigned tasks throughout the shift. Turn in completed task sheet at the end of each shift with time and noting each item as being completed
  • Keep in constant communication with supervisors and managers until you return your radio to the housekeeping office. At no time should communication be cut off prior to that
  • Deliver guest requests in a timely manner and alert supervisor/manager on duty when completed
  • Deliver requested supplies for room attendants to ensure successful completion of guest rooms
  • Deliver linen and supplies to housekeeping storages on assigned floors
  • Ensure all trash and dirty linen is collected at the end of each shift
  • Remove all room service trays from guest sight on the guest floors. Place trays in housekeeping storage or service landing
  • Assist with moving furniture, rugs, and equipment as needed
  • Ensure all equipment is properly cared for and secured at the end of each shift
  • Assist with checking guest restrooms for cleanliness if needed or directed by a supervisor/manager
  • Assist with stripping rooms on occasion by taking trash and dirty linen out of room. Remove room service trays as well
  • Ensure assigned floors’ housekeeping storages are properly filled with linen, towels, and room amenities for the day
  • Maintain shelf organization in assigned storages
  • Ensuring guest request items such as microwaves and refrigerators are delivered smelling fresh and clean. Cribs are delivered with fresh clean sheets and are secure
  • Ensure chemicals are used according to OSHA regulations and Hotel Valencia Riverwalk standards
  • Assist with spot cleaning carpets in guest rooms with the proper chemicals. Shampooing and extracting carpets
  • Do not leave until a supervisor has verified your assignments have been completed and all DNDs have been called. Failure to leave before will result in disciplinary action
  • Ensure the assigned master key is locked and secured at the end of each shift. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Attend required meetings
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
  • Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
  • Assure all safety and security policies and procedures are adhered to
