Position DescriptionThe Server Administrator III's role includes designing, installing, administering, and maintaining advanced computing systems. This includes conducting analysis of specification requirements, as well as, development and implementation of standards and procedures. The position is also expected to assist senior departmental management in IT strategic planning and provide general support for server operating systems and server applications.

Major/Essential Functions- Works in collaboration with the Officeof Research and Innovation as well asrelated stakeholders to communicate goals and coordinate the solutions that meet customer needs.
- Consults on the technical research equipment purchasing process.
- Manages access to select research technology resources, including the RIDSS (Research Data Storage system) and the TTUHSC REDCap instance.
- Serves as Liaison and SME (Subject Matter Expert) between HPCC (High Performance Computing vendors Centers at Texas Tech, UT, etc.) and TTUHSC research.
- Two (2) years of experience in customer service, or other profession requiring adaptive communication styles.
- Two (2) years of experience as an analyst, support, and/or administrator with research data storage systems.
- One (1) year of exposure working with NIST 800-171 (CMMC) controls.
- One (1) year of experience working in Research, Lab, or other Scientific Environments.
- Two (2) years of experience with scientific equipment in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with computer operating systems to include Windows, Macintosh, Microsoft Office, Enterprise security product configurations, and other institutional software.
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus three (3) years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven (7) years.
