Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
- Respond to alarms and incidents (power, cooling, environmental)
- Support vendors during maintenance and repairs
- Follow change management and safety procedures
- Install, terminate, and test
- Copper (Cat6/6a) and fiber (SM/MM) cabling
- Perform cross-connects and patching in meet-me rooms
- Rack and stack servers, switches, and network gear
- Label and document all cabling and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot physical connectivity issues
- Perform remote hands support (reboots, swaps, visual checks)
- Maintain inventory and asset tracking
- Follow ticketing systems and SLAs
- Assist with capacity planning and space utilization
- Basic understanding of:
- Electrical systems (single-phase, three-phase)
- Cooling systems and airflow management
- Familiarity with:
- Preventative maintenance practices
- Safety standards (LOTO, PPE)
- Understanding of:
- Structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA)
- Fiber types, connectors (LC, SC, MPO)
- Basic networking (IP, switches, patching)
