As a Data Center Manager in Amazon, you will manage the world’s largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure. You will lead high‑performing teams, refine and develop processes for operational excellence, drive performance levels, and manage relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities- Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
- Maintaining existing data centers.
- Helping build and bring new data centers online.
- Continuously improving processes and procedures.
- Assisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaising with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensuring compliance with and exceeding local Health & Safety standards.
- Creating and maintaining metrics, and using them to drive positive changes.
- Implementing service methodologies including incident, problem, change and capacity management.
- 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
- 1+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities, mission‑critical plants, or production facilities.
- 1+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP).
- 2+ years of data center experience.
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership or building financial and operational reports/Data sets that inform decision‑making.
- Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions.
- Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum or another Agile certification.
- Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, EBS and S3.
