Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Data Center Manager will manage the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure and drive operational excellence across all data centers, ensuring continuous access to critical cloud services for customers worldwide.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise to achieve high performance.
  • Maintaining existing data centers and ensuring optimal operation.
  • Assisting in building and bringing new data centers online.
  • Continuously improving processes and procedures to maximize efficiency.
  • Managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
  • Liaising with internal teams and senior management.
  • Ensuring adherence to and exceeding local health and safety standards.
  • Creating and maintaining metrics to drive data‑driven improvements.
  • Assisting in implementing service methodologies, including incident, problem, change, and capacity management.
Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years of information technology (IT) experience, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent field.
  • 1+ year of operations and on‑call support for data center facilities, mission‑critical plants, or production facilities.
  • 1+ year of networking experience (e.g., DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of data center experience.
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership or building financial and operational reports that inform business decisions.
  • Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions.
  • Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or an Agile certification.
  • Knowledge of AWS services, such as EC2, EBS, and S3.
