Rothe is seeking a Scientific and Technical Information (STI) Representative to support the STI Compliance and Distribution Services area of the Information, Data, and Analytics (IDAS) Service Line in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM).
From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. In support of STI Compliance and Distribution Services, the candidate will lead the Metrics and Reporting task while also providing support for daily operations. Responsibilities as the Metrics and Reporting lead will include the generation of custom metrics, reports, data visualizations, and analyses in response to requests from internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring and recommending improvements to the organization’s data sharing tools to ensure data partners are able to ingest content from the NASA STI Repository reliably and efficiently.
As service offerings and platforms evolve, the candidate will also be responsible for providing recommendations and raising awareness of risks associated with the change to ensure leadership is able to make informed decisions.
Responsibilities for the support of daily operations will include the implementation of the policies and associated procedures needed to collect, process, maintain and disseminate scientific and technical information (STI) via the Scientific, Technical, and Research Information Disco Very System (STRIVES). “Processing” includes, but is not limited to, an analysis of approval and review tracking, change history, and confirmation of any dissemination or limitation determinations against the corresponding full text document when available.
Additional tasks include creating descriptive metadata to ensure discoverability of STI via NASA’s STI Repository, providing guidance and training for authors, submitters, and stakeholders of STI, assisting with Information Desk inquiries, and continuously evaluating existing products, systems, and processes to make recommendations, based on industry best practices and trends, to optimize and further modernize workflows.
Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions, the employee bears travel costs to the nearest NASA Center for badging and the issuance of NASA IT equipment.
For a Remote or Hybrid position, the employee must have a reliable internet connection and be able to VPN into the NASA network to conduct work.
EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree required; 8 years of relevant experience

SQL, JSON/NDJSON, APIs, relational databases, and database indexes. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in asynchronous and hybrid environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively deliver on customer objectives as part of a team, and/or independently, with minimal direction.
- Detail-oriented, strategic, and critical thinker with the ability to prioritize and manage customer expectations across multiple, competing tasks/projects with aggressive due dates.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, One Note, One Drive), SharePoint, and Box.
- Understanding of Kibana, DbGate, and OpenAPI.
- Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and project management tools.
