Salary Range: $4,381.12 - $5,921.16 per month (TEXAS‑A‑18 Salary Group)
ResponsibilitiesThe Direct Support Professional (DSP) V, Home Supervisor oversees daily operations and quality of services at the assigned home. Key duties include:
- Arrange work schedules to ensure adequate supervision and coverage.
- Lead, plan, assign and supervise DSPs; hire, train, coach, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Model supervisory skills for DSP IV “Charge” staff and coach them on habilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, and mealtime coordination.
- Ensure care, treatment, training, and support activities are completed and documented in collaboration with interdisciplinary staff.
- Maintain safe and sanitary living conditions, infection control, risk management, and quality of life for residents.
- Document incidents, conduct investigations, and report significant changes in resident conditions.
- Facilitate continuous quality improvement, provide guidance on policies and laws, and serve as Acting Director when required.
- Perform emergency drills, first aid, and support during crisis situations.
- Participate in unit, home, and scheduling meetings; prepare reports and other documentation.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with people with developmental or physical disabilities.
- Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and supervisory or team‑lead roles preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong decision‑making, judgment, and crisis management skills.
- Proficiency in proper body mechanics, CPR, and Safety Utilization of Restraint (SUR).
- Understanding of individual care, training, and treatment programs.
- Knowledge of ICF/IID standards and relevant regulations.
- Scheduling, training, guiding, and team‑leadership skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and develop improvement strategies.
- Valid Texas driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- Pass fingerprint criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks.
- Random drug testing applicable to all state‑supported living center employees.
- Males aged 18–25 must register with Selective Service.
- Compliance with E‑Verify and I‑9 documentation on the first day of employment.
- Extended work hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
