Responsibilities:
- Deploy, service, and upgrade Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) in multiple data centers.
- Mentor and train facilities team members on operation and control of BMS and EPMS.
- Audit and maintain computer enterprise asset management systems for BMS/EPMS installations.
- Manage small- to medium‑size projects and programs.
- Perform point‑to‑point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
- Conduct first‑line diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of programming code and hardware.
- Provision servers, controllers, industrial PCs, and network configurations; test communications.
- Install, replace, configure, and calibrate sensors.
- Read electrical schematics, control panel drawings; understand close‑loop controls.
- Supervise low‑voltage electrical contractors during wiring and installation.
- Support commissioning and system‑level testing.
- Create red‑lined drawings and documentation of systems.
- Follow change‑management process to generate work requests and SOPs.
- Participate in factory‑witnessed tests at vendors or panel‑builder facilities.
- Recommend design improvements based on user consultation.
- Perform root‑cause analysis during testing and commissioning.
- Ensure site personnel follow safety methodology.
- Work on‑call and a rotating schedule when required and respond to after‑hours emergencies.
- Monitor and review ticketing systems; prioritize tasks.
- Manage service agreements, including vendor scheduling, quality assurance, and invoice review.
Physical Requirements:
- Walk job sites in uneven terrain; work at heights from ladders.
- Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ years of technical work with computer systems and technology components.
- Technical school diploma or associate degree with 1+ years related to industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent electrical/mechanical operations experience.
- Minimum 1 year experience with low and medium voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems.
- Basic understanding of industrial controls systems, controllers, and programming including troubleshooting of analog, discrete, and communication protocols (MQTT, BACnet, MODBUS).
- Ability to walk job sites in uneven terrain and work at heights from ladders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One-year experience working in a Data Center or mission critical environment.
- ISA Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher.
- Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout and low‑voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
