A strong team member will perform duties including but not limited all aspects of mechanical maintenance. Team member will be able to troubleshoot issues to ensure all mechanical components are in good working order throughout the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS Maintenance- Perform inspections, repairs, and rebuilds on all plant operating equipment.
- Conducts accurate PMs.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, service and repair all plant operating equipment.
- Must be able to disassemble and rebuild all types of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
- Understand the installation and maintenance of all types of bearings.
- Perform shaft alignments within 1/4-inch tolerance.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems.
- Able to use equipment manuals, parts lists or blueprints to properly install, repair, or order parts.
- Process knowledge of the CMMS System to ensure that work orders and checklists are completed accurately.
- Able to work with limited guidance.
- Must be able to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
- Be a mentor for C mechanics.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on the mechanical systems including inspection and lubrication.
- Routine replacement of bearings, idlers, dust collector bags, gearboxes, and drive belts will be required.
- Initiate work orders as required.
- Operate extended forklift, manlift, or maintenance machinery to perform plant maintenance.
- Must have basic fabrication skills and good welding.
- Must be able to complete belt tensioning alignment (Shaft/Belt).
- Ensure all inventory parts are correctly checked out from warehouse
- Ensure all parts are available before starting job.
- Must be well versed on all aspects of safety.
- Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations at all times.
- Complete and document Workplace Inspections in a timely manner.
- Ensure maintenance tools are kept in good condition, repaired, or replaced when necessary.
- Upgrade skills by participating in vendor and company-designated training.
- Train on any new equipment installations.
- Ensure a SQF workplace and follow regulatory compliance with Federal FDA - Food Modernization Safety Act (CFR Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, Part 507).
- Support Environmental Health and Safety, as well as SQF initiatives and awareness programs.
- Be a leader and promoter of employee safety and SQF culture.
- Following completion of SQF training, demonstrate understanding of expected safety, SQF performance and Food Safety Culture.
- Complete periodic SQF training(s).
- Each site location will ensure training is conducted for new employees and continued for existing employees.
- Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.
- Must be flexible to schedule changes.
- Must have a telephone and be in on-call rotation.
- Self-Motivated and must be able to work independently
- Good decision-making skills regarding safety.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry.
- Must perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.
