Membrane Specialist
Location: Lubbock, TX, 79401
Hourly Pay: $26.75 per hour + $1 differential for hours worked 6pm‑6am. Weekly pay.
Summary: The Membrane Specialist is responsible for changing and maintaining membranes and monitoring permeate and flux rates to troubleshoot membrane issues. The Specialist works cross‑functionally with the Maintenance Department to proactively maintain membranes. All other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Operate membrane plants and associated equipment safely, ensuring quality of raw materials and products per SOPs, GMP, and safe work practices.
- Maintain 5S standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Change membranes according to schedule or as needed.
- Monitor membrane performance, troubleshoot issues and take corrective action as necessary. Communicate issues to team lead, supervisor or manager.
- Monitor membrane units and record daily flux rates.
- Work safely by following safety procedures, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct.
- Ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies.
- Work on site at the facility to perform associated responsibilities.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend basic English.
- Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective actions.
- Ability to access elevated work areas (e.g., climb ladders/stairs).
- Basic math skills for performing mathematical functions.
- Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures.
- Ability to maintain a clean work area according to good manufacturing processes.
- Good communication skills to interact with co‑workers and across shifts.
Two years of work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment- Lifting moderate weights repeatedly; must be able to lift up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb steps or ladders, make pipe connections, lift equipment parts.
- Must work in hot, humid, and cold areas.
- Must work overtime and holidays when required.
- Must read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and understand SOPs, GMP, and safe work practices.
- Responsible for housekeeping and inspection program duties.
