SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 4:30 pm - 3:30 am (additional OT Saturdays as needed)
PAY RATE: $20.80 - 24.00+ per hour (Depending on Experience) + $2 shift differential pay + Full Benefits Package
LOCATION: Lubbock, TX
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment used for the fabrication of structural steel and tank products.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the True North Steel Game Changer definition.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and in compliance with the established JSA.
- Ability to competently operate a majority of equipment in an operational area, performing with accuracy, consistency, and with minimal supervision and rework.
- Ability to lead and direct groups of employees to successful task completion
- Perform effectively as a trainer and mentor to junior employees.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment.
- Utilize applicable tools and equipment relevant to operating the machine.
- Practice and promote Safety and Housekeeping.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Others duties as assigned
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Programming CNC equipment
- Operating CNC equipment
- Working knowledge of basic lifting and rigging techniques.
- Able to identify needed material
- Able to read shop drawings
- Plan and organize work to meet deadlines.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
- Effectively operate common layout tools.
- Ability to work with others.
- Ability to work safely and accurately.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
- Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
- Dependable and trustworthy
- High School diploma or GED.
- One to two years of machine operation experience.
- The Machine Operator 2 must have fulfilled the requirements of the Machine Operator I position or shown that equivalent experience and knowledge has been gained by other means (previous employment, trade schools) to meet those requirements.
