RAM Welding is hiring 2 experienced CNC Programmer/Machinists to take parts from print to finished product in Lubbock. You'll own the full process: programming, setup, tooling, machining, in-process inspection, and process improvement on tight-tolerance oilfield and general industrial components, made in prototype, short-run, and repeat-production quantities. This is a growing CNC department inside an established, owner-led shop that's built its reputation over more than a decade on precision oilfield welding and fabrication work.
What you'll be doing
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes, CNC mills, and mill-turn equipment
- Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software and conversational or G-code programming as appropriate
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and work instructions
- Select tooling, work holding, speeds, and feeds for a wide range of materials
- Machine tight-tolerance oilfield and general industrial components in prototype, short-run, and repeat-production quantities
- Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and program issues while maintaining quality and productivity
- Work with management and shop personnel to improve cycle times, repeatability, and manufacturing processes
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Machines, controls and software
Core equipment includes CNC lathes, CNC mills, and mill-turn machines running Okuma and Fanuc controls, programmed with BobCAD-CAM alongside conversational and G-code programming.
What we're looking for
Required
- 10+ years of CNC machining and programming experience
- Strong experience programming and setting up CNC lathes and mills
- Experience with BobCAD-CAM or comparable CAM software
- Working knowledge of Okuma and Fanuc CNC controls
- Strong print-reading, shop math, and precision-inspection skills
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and consistently produce quality parts
Preferred
- Mill-turn experience
- Experience with oilfield or other demanding industrial components
Pay, benefits and schedule
$35.00-$45.00 per hour, full time.
