The Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing CASA of The South Plains
's digital communications efforts through social media, email marketing, graphic design, website management, photography, and storytelling. This role works closely with all departments to create compelling content that increases awareness, supports volunteer recruitment, strengthens community engagement, and advances fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Communications & Social Media
    • Develop and manage the social media content calendar.
    • Create, schedule, and publish content across all platforms.
    • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries.
    • Track and report engagement, reach, and performance metrics.
    • Assist with public relations efforts, including press releases and media outreach.
  • Content Creation & Graphic Design
    • Design digital and print materials such as social media graphics, brochures, flyers, annual reports, event collateral, presentations, and recruitment materials.
    • Produce written content including captions, articles, impact stories, and donor communications.
    • Maintain brand standards across all communication channels.
    • Edit and proofread content for accuracy and consistency.
  • Email Marketing & Storytelling
    • Create and distribute monthly e‑newsletters and special campaign communications.
    • Collaborate with program staff to identify and develop stories that highlight CASA's mission and impact.
    • Maintain an organized library of stories, photos, and marketing assets.
  • Photography, Video & Digital Assets
    • Capture and edit photos and short‑form videos for marketing and storytelling purposes.
    • Maintain and organize the organization’s digital asset library.
    • Assist with visual coverage of events and program activities.
  • Website Management
    • Maintain and update website content.
    • Ensure website information remains current and accurate.
    • Coordinate with vendors and hosting providers as needed.
    • Monitor website performance and functionality.
  • Marketing & Event Support
    • Create promotional materials for fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment efforts, and special events.
    • Assist with event marketing and sponsorship recognition.
    • Support organizational campaigns through coordinated communications strategies.
    • Attend and assist with select CASA events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Growth Responsibilities
    • Potential for professional growth in communications, marketing, public relations, and event management.
    • Opportunities in campaign planning, public relations, event marketing, analytics, committee, and sponsorship support.
  • Attend and support special events.
  • Additional duties as required.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Travel between work locations and throughout the service area as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education
    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required or in progress.
    • Preferred majors:
      Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • Experience
    • Two to three years in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, or related field.
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design, content creation, and storytelling abilities.
    • Experience managing social media platforms for an organization or business.
    • Proficient in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Experience with email marketing platforms and website content management systems.
    • Approved criminal and DFPS background check required.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Photography and basic video editing experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

    • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct.
    • Passion for CASA’s mission.
    • Self‑starter with minimal guidance.
    • Highly organized.
    • Team‑player capable of collaborating effectively.
Salary and Benefits
  • Hourly wage: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Paid vacation and paid holidays, including an extended Christmas break.
  • Flexible work schedule and cell phone stipend.
  • Paid time off increases with years of service.
  • Hybrid work model may be available.
  • Office hours:
    Monday–Thursday 8 a.m.–5 p.m.;
    Friday 8 a.m.–noon.
