Summary: The Development Coordinator supports the Development team in creating, implementing, and sustaining fundraising initiatives and special events. The role assists with public relations matters—including interviews, appearances, tours, and presentations—and acts as a liaison to McDonald’s partners.

Reports to: Director of Development
Job Qualifications- College degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Graphics preferred; 2+ years proven work experience in a related field considered.
- Minimum age 21 with an excellent driving record.
- Computer proficiency: advanced in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) plus Adobe Illustrator and other professional design platforms, event‑planning software, and donor‑management tools.
- Experience in non‑profit development a plus.
- Willingness to travel within West Texas, the Permian Basin, and Eastern New Mexico for presentations and events.
- Administrative and organizational excellence.
- Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and team‑effectiveness skills.

- Assist in managing and executing major RMHC signature events: oversee committee meetings, manage budgets, set timelines, update the development calendar, and maintain related files.
- Manage donor relationships—cultivate, steward, and maintain a donor portfolio across individual donors, foundations, churches, businesses, and community stakeholders.
- Identify, solicit, and follow‑up with prospective sponsors to secure financial and in‑kind donations for special events.
- Maintain database records for event sponsors and attendees and keep event collateral files organized.
- Conduct post‑event analyses, execute follow‑up actions, and manage accounts receivable.
- Coordinate third‑party fundraising events and school partnership events.
- Write creative thank‑you notes to sponsors, donors, and associates.
- Serve as liaison with McDonald’s owners and teams, overseeing fundraising efforts related to donation canisters, Happy Meal funds, Round‑Up funds, and national fundraisers.
- Support the Development Director in implementing strategic plans to meet annual fundraising goals for corporate, family‑room, adopt‑a‑room partnerships and Red Shoe Crew events.
- Facilitate and attend signature events such as the Red Shoe Gala, Quarterback S.A.C.K., and Annual Golf Tournament.
- Represent the organization publicly through media presentations, tours of the House and hospital Family Rooms, and radio/television interviews.
- Other related duties as assigned.
This role operates in a professional office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, cell phones, and fax machines.
Physical DemandsOccasional movement, sitting, hand use, reaching, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position DetailsFull‑time position with variable hours to meet the needs of donors, guests, and volunteers. Salary is competitive and negotiable.
