Position Summary:
A Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients on a general medical-surgical unit. The RN assesses patient conditions, plans and coordinates care, administers treatments and medications, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and vital signs.
Develop and implement individualized care plans.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
Perform wound care, dressing changes, and other nursing interventions.
Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond promptly.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to hospital protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience (varies by facility).
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS may be required by some facilities.

A. The dress code for licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN) is solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire. (Scrub tops may have colored piping.) Print tops are not acceptable attire except for licensed staff in the Children's Hospital (PED, Pedi, PICU, NICU). Women's Services (L&D, Mom/ Baby) will meet the requirements for their unit-specific scrub attire.
B. The dress code for unlicensed personnel (US, CNA, PCA, NT, MT) is solid hunter green colored uniforms or scrub attire. Print tops are not acceptable except in the areas noted above.
