Major/Essential Functions
- Provides anesthesia related care to the University Medical Center patient population. Other duties as assigned.
- Pre-ops
- Establish a plan of anesthesia treatment with anesthesia team and surgeon, while aligned with hospital guidelines.
- Previous work experience in a teaching institution/academic health center.
- PALS certification.
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking.
- AANA Professional Association.
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
Required QualificationsEducation: Completion of a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an approved program of nurse anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs/Schools (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) and two years of experience in an acute care nursing setting OR scheduled to complete a graduate-level degree program accredited for nurse anesthesia within 1 year.
Experience: Two years experience in an acute care nursing setting.
License/
Certifications:
Current RN license in the State of Texas or have the ability to transfer license to Texas within 90 days of hire date. Current certification as a nurse anesthesiologist by the Council on Certification, or eligible to become certified. Acceptance of credentials as a CRNA by the State Board of Nurse Examiners prior to hire.
