Job Description:

VHS is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to provide inpatient coverage on an urgent basis. The provider will work primarily in a clinic setting with shifts from 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, ensuring a minimum of 12 guaranteed hours per day. The assignment runs from July 31, 2026, with potential ongoing shifts needed through August 3, 2026, and possibly beyond. The candidate must be able to work a minimum of 7 shifts within this period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform admissions and discharges
• Run codes as necessary
• Conduct procedures including intubation, central line placement, trialysis line, and arterial lines (varying from none to a few per week)
• Communicate effectively with internal floors and transfer patients accordingly
• Collaborate with physicians, who will be available by phone during nights and on-site during the day

• Current CV uploaded to bid
• Active licensure
• DEA certification required
• Board Certified (BC) or truly BE only
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification required (PA candidates not accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prefer 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Neuro/neurosurgery experience a plus if applicable
