Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with patients, providers, and the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. The position involves working weekends and following a block schedule.

Responsibilities:

- Patient assessments and monitoring in the ER setting.
- Medication administration and treatment planning.
- Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Providing skilled nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions.
- Accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Required Skills &

Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of working.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- TNCC certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Preferred Skills &

Certifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.

Special Considerations:

- Weekend shifts are required (6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks).
- Block scheduling is required.
- Ratios are typically 1:3.
- Uniform/Dress code:
Solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire. (Scrub tops may have colored piping.) Print tops are not acceptable attire except for licensed staff in the Children's Hospital (PED, Pedi, PICU, NICU). Women's Services (L&D, Mom/ Baby) will meet the requirements for their unit specific scrub attire.

- Block schedule.
- Weekends required (6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks).
