LPN/LVN Supervisory/Management experience in Assisted Living & Memory Care is required
The Legacy at South Plains is an 86-bed Assisted Living and Memory Care community located in Lubbock, TX, offering a warm, welcoming environment where residents can maintain independence while receiving personalized care and support.
We are in search of a dynamic Health and Wellness Director (HWD) / Director of Nursing (DON) who is an integral member of the management team, contributing health care leadership and expertise to promote an environment of optimal living for residents. The Health & Wellness Director will plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of clinical services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care.
He/she will comply with all local, state, and federal regulations and focus on employee and resident safety.
As a Director of Nursing / Health & Wellness Director your responsibilities will involve Resident Care, Nursing Leadership and Regulatory Safety and Compliance including but not limited to:
Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and direct clinical services and nursing operations aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Lead nursing leadership, including staff recruitment, mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
- Coordinate comprehensive resident assessments and development of individualized care plans.
- Ensure medication management, audits, incident reporting, and investigations are completed in a timely manner.
- Liaise with internal staff, third-party vendors, and medical professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain safety protocols and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist the community during emergencies.
- Required:
LPN/LVN supervisory/management experience in assisted living and memory care. - Five years of previous management experience (preferred) in a senior care environment.
- Knowledge of standards of care for geriatric services, complex medical conditions, and promoting independence.
- Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology; education in aging, memory decline, and behavior management is highly preferred.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safety and infection control practices.
- Experience building and leading effective nursing teams including hiring, training, and development.
- Current nursing license (LVN/LPN or RN) in good standing; RN preferred. Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
- Strong leadership with the ability to recruit, retain, and develop staff; high judgment and diplomatic skills; ability to collaborate effectively with the team.
