- Degree from an accredited Nursing Program
- Current State Registered Nurse License
- Current CPR certification
- Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR Certification
- One (1) year of recent experience preferred. Acute care setting preferred
- ACLS certification preferred in LTACH and Texas hospitals
- Knowledge of nursing theory, infection control, and wound care standards
- Knowledge of accreditation standards for TJC and CMS
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and use of proper policies and guidelines
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills
- Computer skills: data entry, word processing, email, record management
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain proper confidentiality
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within the assigned unit, performing patient assessments, planning, supervising, interventions, and evaluations to prevent complications, restore optimal functioning, and help patients adapt to an altered lifestyle. The role integrates the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles into daily practice.
