Position: Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse - $1,887 per week

GHR Healthcare seeks a Travel Nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Lubbock, TX. The role is at a Level II Trauma Center located in a Short‑Term Acute Care hospital.

  • Shift: 3 × 12‑hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00) – 36 hrs/week
  • Employment Type:

  • Weekly Pay: $1,680 – $1,770

    Short‑Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience (travel or permanent)
  • Valid RN license (compact license accepted; license must be in hand at submission)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) required
  • Ability to float between Med/Surg, acute care, and sister facilities as needed
  • Willingness to work 3 of the 5 major holidays during the contract
  • Facility dress code: solid navy blue scrubs required
  • Two professional references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg setting
  • Manage patient assignments with typical 1:5 ratios as a Med‑Surg RN
  • Float between acute care and Med/Surg units and assist in sister facilities when needed
  • Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and perform wound care and dressing changes
  • Document patient care and assessments accurately in Epic EHR
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, PT, RT, Pharmacy, and Social Services
  • Participate in rapid response and code teams as required
  • Follow isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and facility safety standards
  • Provide care for patients with acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery diagnoses
  • Maintain compliance with facility scheduling and dress code policies
