Position Title
Licensed Professional Nurse / LVN
Hourly Rate$25.50-$28.50
Supplemental Pay Types- Differential pay
- Overtime pay
11 hour shifts (Days 6:45 a.m.–7 p.m.; Nights 6:45 p.m.–7 a.m.)
Bi‑Weekly Rotation- Week 1:
Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat. - Week 2:
Sun, Wed, Thu.
The Licensed Professional Nurse provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises the care performed by Quality of Life Specialists/Resident Assistants.
Essential Duties- Administers medications and treatments accurately and documents all administrations in accordance with department procedures.
- Informs physician, nurse manager, or responsible party/family of changes in resident’s condition or incidents when appropriate.
- Ensures each resident’s Care Plan is followed to meet the residents’ needs and state requirements.
- Supervises and assists assigned Certified Nurse Aides and other nursing staff, delegating assignments and ensuring completion.
- Makes walking rounds with departing nurse and frequently throughout shift including visual and physical assessments, controlled drug counts, and thorough and complete report.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensures all transfer, discharge, and admission information is complete according to policy and practice.
- Completes all duties on shift task sheet, monthly summaries, and quarterly assessments.
- Recognizes, reports, and charts potentially serious clinical manifestations and administers and documents treatment within the scope of authority and practice.
- Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
- Maintains a current license with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners for Vocational Nursing.
- Has a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR – Healthcare Provider) card.
- Preferred: at least one‑year experience as charge nurse in a geriatric setting.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize the nursing process to deliver care to an individual or group of residents and accept assigned responsibilities as an accountable member.
- Teamwork ability; assists all other department members when needed.
- Collaborative with other healthcare professionals and departments.
- Problem‑solving skills in situations with limited standardization and ability to interpret various instructions.
- Professional interaction with physicians, patients, visitors, and staff, demonstrating appropriate interpersonal skills and demeanor.
