Overview

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, you will report to the Plasma Center Manager and provide operational and medical support to ensure safe, high‑quality plasma collection.

Key duties include determining donor eligibility, monitoring donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and delivering center‑level environmental, health and safety support in accordance with Bio Life medical affairs guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and coordinating emergency transport.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; refer to EHS guidance regarding incidents.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS to support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a state‑recognized nursing program.
  • Licensed or certified in the state of assignment:
    Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Compensation & Benefits Summary

Location:

USA – TX – Lubbock.
Hourly wage range: $31.68 – $43.56, based on qualifications and experience. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance; tuition reimbursement; paid volunteer time; company holidays; well‑being benefits; up to 80 sick hours annually and 120 vacation hours for new hires.
