The hospital-based Wound Ostomy Nurse serves as a clinical resource and consultant for patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems such as acute and chronic wounds (e.g., complex draining wounds, fistulae, pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers), ostomies, percutaneous tubes, and moisture-related skin injuries. Professional responsibilities are carried out through direct patient care, clinical consultation, education, research, and administration.
The Wound Ostomy Nurse provides inpatient clinical services throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department and Wound/Ostomy Care Clinic.
- Texas Registered Nurse License (upon hire)
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association (upon hire)
- 2 years of Acute care experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school or equivalent education/experience
- Certification from the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) (upon hire)

PayPay Range: $36.08 – $56.02 per hour. Additional compensation such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities may be available.
