The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Psychiatry Training Program in Lubbock, Texas, is a structured, competency‑based program designed to prepare nurse practitioners and physician assistants to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient, and consultation‑liaison settings. The program emphasizes comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, management of acute and chronic mental illness, collaborative care models, and interprofessional teamwork within an academic medical environment.
APP trainees receive close supervision from board‑certified psychiatrists, participate in case conferences and didactics, and gain experience managing complex conditions, including mood disorders, psychosis, substance use disorders, and neurocognitive disorders.
