UMC Family Medicine at Lakeridge

We are seeking a full‑time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with a passion for patient care to join our team at UMC Physicians. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) utilizes advanced knowledge and clinical expertise to provide direct patient care, including prescribing medications, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and coordinating care with the nursing staff.

• Provide direct patient care, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions.
• Prescribe medication and medical tests, review and interpret test results, and maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to review patient health records and coordinate follow‑up care.
• Participate in quality improvement (QI) initiatives for the clinic.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of patient care protocols within established scope of practice.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational policies, including emergency disaster plans.

• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Texas.
• BSN or MSN degree and successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in family medicine (preferred).
• Good personal and professional demeanor, punctuality, and an ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license in Texas.
• Good standing with the Texas Medical Board or ability to obtain/transfer license to Texas.
• BSN or MSN degree from an accredited program.
• Basic Life Support certification.

40 hours per week. 8:00AM–6:00PM Monday–Thursday, 8:00AM–12:00PM Friday. Flexible schedule may include evenings and weekends.

• Works in a well‑lit, ventilated building.
• Hours may vary to accommodate departmental needs.
• Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens is high risk.
• Medium physical demand: standing, walking most of the time, lifting and pushing patients, carts, wheelchairs.
• Adequate hand‑eye coordination and fine motor skills required.
• Good tactile sensation necessary for patient checks.
• Clear communication essential for instructing nursing staff and receiving orders.
• Near visual acuity for accurate charting.
