Unit Description 4-West is a 35-bed Medical Surgical unit practicing individualized care to a very diverse, adult patient population. 4-West nurses are experienced in the care of a wide variety of chronic and acute medical conditions and receive special training for the care of renal patients. Nurses collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and a variety of specialists including palliative care, cardiology, neurology, urology, oncology, and orthopedics.
4-West is team-oriented and has been successful in providing our patients with superior quality and outstanding customer service. Our unit is an ideal place for nurses looking to optimize their clinical expertise, time management, and critical thinking skills. 4-West Nurses serve as an advocate for clients and their significant others to promote, maintain or restore health. Our nurses serve as mentors and role models for colleagues and students and continually engage in ongoing professional development to enhance the profession.
• CNAs are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse. The duties generally include observing patients, recording vital signs, performing EKGs, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
Qualifications
• Applicant has completed Nurse Aide course and presents Nurse Aide Certification. PCA or PCT certification also acceptable
• Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association OR for Nurse Assistant NAs are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse. The duties generally include observing patients, recording vital signs, performing EKGs, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
Qualifications
• Nursing student who has completed approximately one quarter of their nursing curriculum (LVN or RN) and clinical experience Or applicant has at least one year of previous/recent hospital Nurse Aide experience.
