American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and active Epic proficiency.
Details- Short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds, designated as a Level II Trauma Center
- Med/Surg unit with a patient ratio of 1:5–6
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
- Approximately 5–6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule are required
- Floating between units and sister facilities within the state is expected
- No on-call required
- EMR:
Epic (required) - Patient population includes a broad range of Med/Surg cases including gastrointestinal, respiratory, genitourinary/renal, neurological, orthopedic, bariatric, and endocrine/metabolic conditions
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, central line blood draws, PICC line management, port access/management, and blood product administration
- Proficiency with respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Solid navy blue scrubs are required for licensed nursing personnel; print tops are not acceptable
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day - All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be approved
- Candidates who previously worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or per diem/registry must disclose location and dates of employment
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted; local candidates are considered at a different bill rate
- Refusal to float between units or sister facilities within the state may result in termination of assignment
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
