American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Requirements- active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
- minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hardstop requirement)
- certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- community hospital experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management
- experience with neurological conditions including CVA
- experience with isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and medication administration including IV vasopressors
- experience with cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
- 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, which may include Charge RNs/Leads
- teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- previous charge experience preferred
- work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center hospital
- 1:3 patient ratios
- night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- required to work 6 weekends per 6-week period
- no on-call responsibilities
- no floating between units required, though floating between sister facilities may be expected
- Epic EMR experience required
- block scheduling approved but not required
- work in a stroke-certified facility with cardiac monitoring and emergency response capabilities
- must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year s Eve, New Year s Day)
- dress code requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
- free parking available in designated surface lots
- first-time travelers welcome to apply if they hold over 2 years of ED experience
- candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel pay rate, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- candidates should not contact facility staff directly except for scheduled interviews arranged through American Traveler
- minimal RTO requests accepted and must be submitted upfront during the application process
