- Weekends: 6 weekends per 6 weeks (required) - Ratios: 1:3 days / nights / weekends
Assignment Details
- Patient age groups:
Pediatrics through Geriatrics - ED daily census: ~136 visits
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Patient ratio experience: 1:3 - Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Charting system:
Epic (required)
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct triage and comprehensive patient assessments in the emergency department.
- Provide care for a variety of emergency conditions including but not limited to stroke, trauma, and respiratory distress.
- Manage airway support, including BiPAP/CPAP, and care for ventilated patients.
- Administer IV medications and manage central lines, including IV vasopressors.
- Implement isolation precautions and adhere to PPE protocols.
Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Pre-approved time off: one; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, New Year's Day) - Dress code: solid navy blue uniforms/scrubs (print tops not acceptable for licensed staff except specified pediatric areas)
