American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center on night shift, requiring 2 years of ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.

• Emergency Department unit within a short term acute care hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 13-week assignment length
• Weekends required, 6 per 6-week period
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required between units
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Block scheduling approved but not required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Certified facility

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hardstop requirement)
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
• Experience managing CVA (cerebrovascular accident) patients
• Proficient in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and medication administration including IV vasopressors
• Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and emergency cardiac response
• Teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

• Provide emergency department nursing care within a Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Certified facility
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia management
• Dress code requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers considered only if candidate holds over 2 years of ED experience
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius unless applying under the local candidate rate
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• RTO requests should be minimal and submitted upfront to avoid delays in offer processing
