American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring TX or compact RN license and 2 years of ED experience.
Details- Level II Trauma Center, Stroke Certified Facility Emergency Department
- 1:3 patient ratios
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Weekend requirement of 6 weekends per 6-week period
- No floating between units required for this specific assignment, though floating between sister facilities may be expected
- No on-call responsibilities
- Block scheduling approved but not required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hardstop requirement)
- Community hospital experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills needed include BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, CVA/stroke care, triage, IV vasopressor administration, and dysrhythmia management
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience required
- Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Provide emergency department nursing care in a Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Certified Facility
- Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
- May be expected to float between sister facilities within the health system
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-submission requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers considered only if candidate holds over 2 years of ED experience
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
