American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details- Emergency Department setting within a Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Certified facility
- 1:3 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Evening shift schedule (3x12 hours, 15:00-03:00)
- Weekend requirement of 6 weekends per 6-week period
- No on-call responsibilities required
- No floating between units at the contracted facility, though floating between sister facilities may be expected
- Block scheduling approved but not required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active TX or compact RN license required and in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required (hardstop)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Skills needed include respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, CVA/neurological care, triage, IV vasopressors, and management of dysrhythmias
- Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
- 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide emergency care in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level II Trauma Center
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response for dysrhythmia management
- Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility must wait at least 3 months after leaving permanent employment before returning as a travel nurse
- First-time travelers considered only if they hold over 2 years of ED experience
- Minimal RTO accommodated; requests should be submitted upfront during the application process
- Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots
