DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center with an active TX or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience required.
Details- Level II Trauma Center emergency department in a short term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds
- Evening shift, 3x12 hours (15:00-3:00)
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- No floating between units required at the primary facility
- No on-call responsibilities
- Block scheduling approved but not required
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hardstop)
- Community hospital experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line management
- Experience with neurological care including CVA management
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, triage, medication administration, and IV vasopressors
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
- Teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Work in a Stroke Certified Facility with Level II Trauma designation
- Provide direct emergency department nursing care including triage and management of acute and critical patients
- Dress code requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
- Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, with limited flexibility after placement
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility unless applying as a local candidate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travelers and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers considered only if they hold over 2 years of ED experience
- Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
