Position Description

A graduate student in an institution within the Texas Tech University System employed in support of a department or unit responsible for work assigned by the supervisor within the unit or department which utilizes knowledge beyond undergraduate academic studies.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Assist with data management, data validation, data preprocessing, data coding, and data analysis for a secondary data analysis research study (TTUHSC SHP Seed Grant funded).
  • Use machine learning to create a predictive model for identification of at-risk students using student performance assessment data.
  • Communicate consistently with the lead researchers.
Required Qualifications

Enrolled in the graduate program of an institution within the Texas Tech University System.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Excel and Excel formulas specifically in working with data.
  • Research experience (data preprocessing, data validation and analysis, machine learning).
  • Experience with R or Python.
  • Experience with basic data cleaning, organizing, validating, and analysis techniques.
