Position Description

Coordinates daily operations of clinical research studies in assigned department(s). This includes but is not limited to overallclinic conduct, marketing, and data management of all clinical research activities in assigned department(s). Carries outsupervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training new employees; assisting with planning, assigning, and directing work;addressing complaints and resolving problems. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and dangerousbodily fluids. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Approximately 5-15% travel (often long-distance) is required.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Research program enrollment:
    Assist with research subjectenrollment by completing all necessary documents, research consentdocumentation and ensure accurate data entry of patient information into research files/database.
  • Coordinates and schedules research subjects visits.
  • Ensures that research data is securely stored and protectedfrom unauthorized access, loss, or corruption. Also ensure compliance with TTUHSC and other relevant regulations and ethicalguidelines governing data management, research and privacy.
  • Training and oversight of part time staff involved with research projects.
  • Assists PI with various administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, collection of research data and maintaining researchsupplies and other duties and responsibilities as needed to accomplish the goals and mission of the research project and institute.

Required Qualifications

Healthcare related training with current licensure/certification intheir field OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited university witha major in the area of research being conducted. Certification:

Certified Clinical Research Professional as defined by The Societyof Clinical Research Associates or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator as defined by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals OR Ability to obtain certification as a Clinical Research Professional/Coordinator within two years from date ofhire or upon eligibility.
