University Ave. Night Shift Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Shift Manager’s primary duty is the management of thedaily operations of the restaurant to ensure the overall goal of outstanding guest service. The Shift Manager manages the day-to-day activities ofhourly staff. In the absence of the General Manager & Assistant General Manager, the Shift Manager is the highest-ranking member of the management teamin the restaurant and had direct responsibility for overseeing the financial results, operations, staff development, customer service and compliance withall Company policies, procedures, standards, and specifications.

• Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure Company standards for quality food, service, and sanitation are met.
• Manageand supervise employees. Must have strong leadership and communication skills.
• Assignand direct daily work responsibilities for staff.
• Reconcilecash registers at open and close of each shift.
• Maintain all records as required by Company policies and procedures, and incompliance with state and federal law.
• Maintain staff compliance with Company policies, procedures, standards, and specifications.
• Maintain staff compliance with state and federal laws governing safety and food handling.

• Displayexemplary and professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Listenand communicate effectively with the General Manager, Shift Leaders andhourly staff, guests, vendors, and the community.
• Conduct staff meetings, as directed by the General Manager.
• Followthe General Manager’s direction and accomplish the objectives set by the General Manager.
• Reviewthe objectives with Shift Leaders and hourly staff as necessary.
• Delegateappropriate tasks and responsibilities as necessary.
• Resolve employee complaints, questions or concerns as necessary.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours.
• Periodsof standing and walking, as necessary.
• Frequentcontact with guests, requiring tact and courtesy.
• Frequentcontact with subordinates, requiring direction and supervision.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Abilityto read, write and verbally communicate well.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
