Risk Management Analyst RN – Risk Management
ResponsibilitiesExecutes organization-wide risk management program in collaboration with the Risk Management Director and SJHS Claims Manager. Plans, implements, and evaluates risk mitigation strategies to identify, prevent, and manage clinical and non-clinical risks. Oversees day-to-day administration of the risk management program, acting as a subject matter expert, internal consultant, and educator on risk management issues. Supports loss prevention and reduction, claims management and litigation support, risk transfer through insurance, regulatory and accreditation compliance, and bioethics.
Requires on-call availability and ability to work autonomously while collaborating with ministries, staff, leaders, physicians, patients, and visitors.
On‑site position located in Lubbock, Texas, requiring daily onsite presence. Full‑time, day shift (8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) with night and weekend rotating call every 5–6 weeks. Employees must be commutable to the office location and flexible to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare‑related field from an accredited university;
Nursing preferred or at least 3 years of experience in a clinical risk management/patient safety role with related professional certification (CPHRM or CPPS), or ability to obtain certification within 1 year. - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or another health‑care‑related program.
- On‑the‑job training and attendance at workshops and seminars provided by SJHS and external resources.
- Immediate Texas Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- At least 5 years of general nursing or healthcare‑related experience, preferably in a clinical setting such as hospital, outpatient clinic, or home health services.
- Master’s degree in a healthcare‑related field or a J.D. in a health‑care‑related discipline.
- Certification in Risk Management (CPHRM), Patient Safety (CPPS), or Health Care Quality (CPHQ) upon hire.
- Experience with TeamSTEPPS or High Reliability Organization programs.
- Legal or investigative experience.
- Prior experience in Risk Management, Patient Safety, or Quality Management.
