Asst/Assoc Professor - Pediatric Cancer Developmental Therapeutics

Position Description

The Pediatric Cancer Research Center of the TTUHSC School of Medicine () is recruiting for a physician‑scientist to an Assistant Professor level, tenure‑track position in the field of pediatric cancer developmental therapeutics. The new faculty member will be supported by and be a member of the Texas Regional Excellence in Cancer (TREC) Developmental Therapeutics Center at TTUHSC funded by the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT).

TREC faculty carry out translational and clinical research in cancer drug development and are funded by grants from CPRIT, the National Cancer Institute, and foundations. TREC faculty are supported by core resources for pharmacology, cancer animal models, a robust cancer biobank, and an early‑phase clinical trial consortium ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). The Children’s Oncology Group Childhood Cancer Repository () located at TTUHSC provides patient‑derived cell lines and xenografts to investigators in 30 countries.

COG resource labs for assessing telomere maintenance mechanisms and antibody binding to neuroblastoma patient samples are also located at TTUHSC as is the CPRIT‑funded West Texas Pharmacology Core laboratory. Examples of publications from TREC faculty: PMID: ; PMID: ; PMID: ; PMID: .
