Developmental Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary:

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting Developmental Technicians specializing in General Facilities and Maintenance. As a Developmental Technician, you will work under the guidance of the local General Maintenance Manager to maintain the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our stores, equipment, and fixtures. Your responsibilities include following established schedules and guidelines, performing inspections, cleaning, repairs, and supporting store associates with reactive repair work orders.

What you’ll do:

You will assist or perform primary responsibilities under the direct supervision of an experienced technician, maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, and food equipment), utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair activities, respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls, inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues, and complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills and hand or power tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.

• 18 years or older and High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, handle varying temperatures, and sit or stand for extended periods.
• Valid, state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Eligibility for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trades, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.

The hourly wage range for this position is $16.00 – $28.00; additional compensation may include premiums ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
