About Our Client

With a strong presence in the Midland/Odessa area and an expanding portfolio of public‑sector work — including school district technology upgrades — they specialize in delivering data, voice, security, and communications systems for commercial and institutional clients.

The company is built on a foundation of reliability, craftsmanship, and a commitment to developing talent from within, offering entry‑level candidates a real pathway into skilled technical roles.

Job Description

We are looking for motivated, dependable individuals — both entry‑level General Laborers and experienced Low Voltage Technicians — to join active job sites in the Midland, TX area, with immediate openings at school sites in Greenwood, TX. These are contract positions with full‑time hours (45–50 hours per week), offering competitive hourly pay based on experience and a daily food allowance of $30/day.

General Laborers will work alongside seasoned technicians, supporting cabling installations and maintaining safe, organized job sites — making this an ideal entry point for those with construction experience looking to break into the low voltage field. Experienced Low Voltage Technicians will take on more independent responsibilities, including pulling, routing, and terminating structured cabling systems across active projects.

This is a locally focused opportunity — candidates must be based in the Midland/Odessa or Lubbock area and able to commute daily to job sites. All candidates working on school projects will be required to pass a background check. No relocation or travel compensation is provided.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist with or lead the installation of low voltage systems, including data, voice, and security infrastructure.
  • Pull, route, and terminate cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, and related systems) per project specifications.
  • Support or independently execute work on active commercial and institutional job sites.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments in compliance with site‑specific safety standards.
  • Follow technical layouts and blueprints to ensure accurate and code‑compliant installations.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of cabling to verify system performance (Technician level).
  • Coordinate with project leads and fellow crew members to meet project timelines.
  • Adhere to all PPE requirements and site‑specific safety and compliance protocols.
Required Experience & Skills For General Laborers
  • Ability to work safely and effectively on active construction job sites.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites in the Midland/Greenwood area.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn on the job.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and work in varied site conditions.
For Low Voltage Technicians
  • Hands‑on experience with structured cabling systems (Cat5/Cat6 required; fiber a strong plus).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical layouts.
  • Demonstrated experience terminating, testing, and troubleshooting cabling infrastructure.
  • Ownership of basic hand tools is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on site.
All Candidates
  • Must be local to Midland/Odessa or Lubbock area — no travel compensation offered.
  • Must be able to pass a background check (required for school project sites).
  • Ability to commit to full‑time hours and commute daily to assigned job sites.
  • Must comply with all PPE requirements as specified by the job site.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Experience working in public‑sector or school/institutional construction environments.
  • Familiarity with security systems, access control, or AV infrastructure.
  • Prior experience in a similar contractor or trade environment.
  • Interest in growing into a full‑time skilled technician role over time.
  • BICSI certification or other low voltage/structured cabling credentials.
Education

No formal educational requirement. Relevant trade experience, vocational training, or on‑the‑job experience in construction or low voltage systems is preferred.
