Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Forklift Operator
What You’ll Do
- Prepare tools for shipment to other stores and dealers.
- Properly dispose (check‑in) all tools that are received for factory, vendors, and other locations.
- Assemble and disassemble work tools as required; ensure proper labeling of all tools.
- Maintain good order and cleanliness of the yard.
- Assist Rental, Parts, and Service Departments when instructed to do so.
- Greet customers in the yard and direct them to the office or unloading areas.
- Assist delivery drivers in loading and unloading work tools and rental equipment.
- Wash and perform light maintenance on work tools and rental equipment.
- Conduct final inspection of equipment before customers receive it, verifying inventory r, fuel level, and “rental‑ready” condition; inspect returned equipment, verify fuel, and install service tags.
- Move “rental‑ready” equipment back to proper storage areas following routine maintenance procedures by the service shop.
- Demonstrate general operating instructions for rental equipment to customers.
- Maintain knowledge of all work tools.
- A pro‑active, problem‑solving attitude.
- Ability to manage a varied workload with constantly changing priorities.
- Detail‑orientation, strong organization, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a diverse employee/customer population.
- Ability to accomplish assignments.
- Willingness to work overtime as required, and occasional weekend, holiday, or evening work.
- Must be able to pass a work‑step test for the position.
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training.

Important InformationWhile performing the duties of this job, you will regularly stand, walk, sit, use your hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear. You will occasionally lift heavy objects and be exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Required travel up to 5%.
