Sr. Mechatronics & Robotics Technician

The Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (SMRT) plays a crucial role in supporting the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems within the facility. This position requires a hands-on approach to install, troubleshoot, and repair various electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment such as conveyors and pneumatic systems throughout the building.
  • Install and troubleshoot components including photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, and encoders.
  • Provide feedback on tasks in the Preventive Maintenance programs and complete assigned PMs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Work on automated conveyor systems and complete preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
Essential Skills
  • 4+ years of experience in conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • 4+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment or automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • 4+ years of experience with blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
  • 4+ years of knowledge in electrical and electronic principles.
  • 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE systems.
  • 4+ years of experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with OEM and Safety standards.
  • 3+ years of experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • 1+ year of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • High school or equivalent diploma.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working and coordinating with vendors.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to learn and grow.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders such as Operations and Safety to coordinate complex maintenance activities.
  • Associate or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • Experience in a team lead capacity supporting, training, and mentoring less experienced technicians.
  • 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • 2+ years of experience with PLC based control systems.
  • 2+ years of experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
  • Project Management experience.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large distribution facility equipped with high-speed automation equipment, primarily featuring robotic components. Candidates should be comfortable with performance tracking systems and be prepared to walk up to 10,000 steps a day and move up to 49 lbs at a time. Flexibility is required as candidates must be open to any 10-hour shift, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $85000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
