Mechatronics & Robotics Technician

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will support the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment throughout the facility. You will apply your expertise in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to keep complex automation and control systems running reliably, while also mentoring junior technicians and promoting a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
  • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment in a high-volume environment.
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on conveyors, sorters, robotics, and related automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, including mechanical and electrical faults, to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Use maintenance management tools and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to plan, track, and document maintenance work.
  • Apply control systems knowledge to support automation performance and resolve equipment control issues.
  • Leverage data analysis to identify recurring problems, improve equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support risk management and safety programs by following and demonstrating established safety standards and procedures.
  • Mentor junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, demonstrating best practices, and providing guidance on troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with operations and project teams to support new equipment installations and upgrades to material handling systems.
  • Assist in planning and executing preventative maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.

Essential

Skills:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment.
  • At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • At least 2 years of experience demonstrating and adhering to safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills for conveyors, sorters, robotics, and other automation equipment.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills for control systems and automated equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Experience with maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning.
  • Hands-on experience with conveyor maintenance and automated material handling systems.
  • Familiarity with automation and control systems in an industrial or warehouse setting.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Exposure to project management principles within maintenance or engineering projects.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with data analysis to support equipment performance and reliability improvements.
  • Background in maintenance supervision or mentoring junior technicians.
  • Knowledge of risk management practices related to industrial equipment and facility operations.

Work Environment:
