Position Overview /b pThe Electrical Field Service Technician at the Apprentice level plays a key support role in the repair, replacement, and installation of equipment and systems. This entry-level position provides hands-on training and a foundational knowledge of electrical operations under strict adherence to safety procedures. Working under the guidance of experienced electricians, the Apprentice develops essential skills, builds industry expertise, and grows technical abilities in the field, learning through observation and hands-on tasks without direct customer contact.

Key Responsibilities /b p bGeneral Duties /b /p ul liTake instruction and learn from experienced technicians and supervisors, executing assigned tasks through repetition and observation. /li liLearn basic electrical theory (voltage, current, resistance). /li liLearn the use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals and lubricants. /li liLearn about arc-flash risks and required protective actions. /li liLearn the division's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
/li liLearn the purpose and reasoning behind safety protocols, best practices, troubleshooting methods, and quality standards. /li liLearn to identify common failure causes for equipment and systems. /li liLearn to use diagnostic tools such as pressure gauges, multimeters, and temperature sensors. /li /ul
Qualifications /b ul liPrior experience in construction, electrical work, or related field service is helpful. /li liStrong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude. /li liAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management, and customers. /li liAbility to persevere through challenges and failures. /li liMust be able to pass a criminal background check. /li liMust possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a driving record that qualifies as “insurable” by the company's insurance carrier;
MVR reviews may be conducted at any time. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Brandon & Clark. /li liAble to work 40 hours per week on a regular basis, with availability for additional hours as needed. Overtime is anticipated and may include evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations. /li /ul
Physical Requirements /b ul liAbility to work in high places, tight or confined spaces, and other adverse locations. /li liAbility to lift heavy components up to 75 lbs. /li liAbility to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, crouch, and kneel for extended periods. /li liWork is performed the majority of the time at customer sites, with productive shop work as assigned by the manager.
/li liMay work outdoors in varying weather conditions. /li liWork areas may be very noisy and may require ear protection. /li liMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, and environmental hazards. /li liSome travel is required, including out-of-town and overnight assignments, and may include evenings and weekends. /li /ul
