Commissioning Specialist

Pay: $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience

Our client is seeking a Data Center Commissioning Specialist to support the startup, testing, acceptance, and turnover of mission-critical data center systems. This field-focused position works closely with commissioning teams, construction personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and project leadership to verify system readiness, document deficiencies, and keep commissioning activities moving forward.

• Verify that installed systems are complete and ready for startup and commissioning.
• Perform field inspections, installation verifications, and functional performance testing.
• Support pre-functional checklists, startup activities, equipment testing, and system acceptance.
• Record test results, observations, deficiencies, and corrective actions in CxAlloy.
• Create, update, track, and close commissioning issues and punch-list items.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, checklists, and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate troubleshooting with construction teams, subcontractors, vendors, controls technicians, and commissioning personnel.
• Confirm that identified deficiencies are corrected, retested, and properly documented.
• Monitor commissioning progress and communicate issues that could affect safety, schedule, startup, or turnover.
• Participate in commissioning meetings, system walkdowns, testing activities, and owner or client inspections.
• Help drive systems through installation completion, startup, functional testing, acceptance, and final turnover.
• Maintain accurate, organized commissioning records and turnover documentation.
• Follow all project safety requirements and site procedures.

• Experience supporting commissioning, startup, testing, quality control, or field construction activities.
• Ability to evaluate installation readiness and identify incomplete or deficient work.
• Experience documenting commissioning activities and tracking issues through resolution.
• Working knowledge of CxAlloy or a comparable commissioning management platform.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, equipment documentation, and testing procedures.
• Strong field coordination, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple trades, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in an active, fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and timely project completion.

• Commissioning experience on large-scale data center or mission-critical projects.
• Exposure to electrical, mechanical, HVAC, controls, life-safety, or building management systems.
• Experience with equipment startup, pre-functional inspections, functional performance testing, deficiency management, and turnover.
