We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling service appointments based on our weekly route plan, serving as the primary contact for our drivers, and ensuring that all operations run smoothly. You will play a crucial role in maintaining effective communication between drivers and management, addressing any issues that arise, and ensuring that all appointments are met in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Service Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule service appointments based on the weekly route plan to optimize efficiency.
- Driver Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, relaying information effectively and addressing any inquiries or issues that arise during operations.
- Schedule Management: Correct any time conflicts or schedule changes in real-time to ensure seamless operations.
- Log Maintenance: Maintain accurate logs of dispatching activities, including driver assignments, delivery confirmations, and any other relevant documentation.
- Issue Resolution: Quickly assess and resolve any operational issues that may arise, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
- Monitoring Dispatch Console: Regularly review the dispatching console to confirm that scheduled appointments are being met, investigating any discrepancies or missed appointments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or transportation is a plus.
- Proven experience in a dispatch or scheduling role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using dispatching software, Google Workspace and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Knowledge of Texas, New Mexico, South Dakota and Oklahoma geographical areas is an advantage.
