Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Video Editor who can independently handle both short-form content (Reels, Shorts, Tik Tok style) and long-form content (You Tube videos, interviews, explainers, vlogs).
The ideal candidate understands pacing, storytelling, modern editing aesthetics, and platform-specific content styles. This is a critical creative role at Arthashala.
Key Responsibilities
Short-Form Editing (80%)
- Edit high-quality short vertical videos (Reels/Shorts) with strong hooks, fast pacing, and viral storytelling.
- Add captions, motion graphics, sound effects, zooms, transitions, and dynamic cuts.
- Repurpose long-form footage into short, engaging micro-content.
- Maintain brand consistency across all short-form platforms.
Long-Form Editing (20%)
- Edit structured long-form You Tube videos (8–25 mins).
- Add infographics, B-roll, charts, references, voiceovers, transitions.
- Build strong narrative flow using jump cuts, pacing, and clarity.
- Perform color correction, audio cleanup, and smooth transitions.
General Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Founder and content team for creative direction.
- Bring new ideas for storytelling, formats, templates, and editing styles.
- Organize raw footage, maintain project files, and manage backups.
- Work under tight timelines with high ownership and quality focus.
- Stay updated with latest editing trends, AI tools, and visual styles.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro / DaVinci Resolve
- Strong command of motion graphics, text animations, and sound design
- Experience editing for You Tube, Instagram, Shorts, and Reels
- Understanding of color grading, audio mixing, stabilization, and effects
Creative Skills
- Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and audience retention
- Ability to craft engaging hooks and visual narratives
- Eye for design, detail, and aesthetic consistency
Additional Plus
- Knowledge of finance/investing content (optional, but preferred)
- Experience with AI editing tools (Descript, Opus Clip, Runway, etc.)
- Ability to shoot basic footage when needed
Requirements
- 1–4 years of relevant editing experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating short-form and long-form edits
- Ability to handle feedback and iterate quickly
- Must be comfortable working in a high-paced, creative environment
- Availability for quick turnarounds when required
