Retirement​/Benefits Specialist

The Hampden County Sheriff’s Office is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Retirement/Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives on helping employees understand and navigate their benefits while ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple programs.

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Serve as the primary liaison with the Massachusetts State Retirement Board, Group Insurance Commission, and related agencies.
• Manage employee benefits, including pension, deferred comp, health, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
• Support employees with retirement and benefit guidance, enrollments, and updates.
• Administer COBRA and leave notifications (FMLA, PFML, military leave, etc.).
• Present benefit information during new employee orientation and conduct training sessions.
• Maintain accurate benefit and eligibility records.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
• Experience in benefits administration, retirement programs, or human resources preferred.
• A team player with a service-driven mindset and attention to detail.
